The Kosman Banking Family goes back to the early 1900’s, when Hod Kosman’s Grandfather and Uncle started Scottsbluff National Bank in 1909. Kosman began his banking experience in 1974, starting at Scottsbluff National Bank-Scottsbluff, NE., and became President of the Nebraska state-wide FirsTier Bank-Scottsbluff (previously Scottsbluff National Bank) in 1989 through 1995. In 1996 Kosman and his family announced the opening of a new financial organization to serve Wyo-Braska. Since that time he has served as Director, Chairman, President and CEO of the Platte Valley Companies financial and insurance organization in NE and WY. He has been recognized as a community leader, has held and continues to serve on numerous civic and community boards. He has been a resident of the Western Nebraska communities since 1949. Kosman is a graduate of the University of Nebraska in 1971 and did graduate work at Arizona State University. He also attended the Colorado Graduate School of Banking in 1978. On April 24, 1999 he received the Alumni Achievement Award from the Nebraska Alumni Association.
Donald L. Smith

Don Smith has been involved in banking with the Kosman Banking Family since October of 1958. His experience in the banking industry, includes lending, operations, investments and trust services. He has been a member of the Scottsbluff/Gering communities since 1934, and has held memberships in several civic and philanthropic organizations. His education includes an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Nebraska Western College, and is a graduate of the Colorado School of Banking.
Donald F. Roth

Don Roth started his banking experience in 1971. He has worked in all areas of banking, to include: operations, lending and management. He is currently responsible for the management of all eight Platte Valley Bank locations in Nebraska and Wyoming. Roth has been very active in local community activities in the Scottsbluff-Gering area since 1971, having served on several civic and public boards, and continues to be very active in the community. His education includes a B.A. Degree in Business Administration from Chadron State College, and is a graduate of the Colorado School of Banking. Roth also served as an officer in the Army Corps of Engineers, to include a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam.
Travis S. Hiner

Travis Hiner has been a resident of the Scottsbluff-Gering communities for over 55 years. He received a B.A. Degree as well as an MBA in business administration from the Un. of Nebraska. From 1968 to 1985 Hiner served as president/chairman of the board for Hiner Implement Company, Scottsbluff, NE.; Hiner Implement, Inc., Torrington, WY.; and president/chairman of the board for Hiner Lease Company from 1976 to the present. He has served as a board member of the Kosman Banking Family since 1990. Community involvements include: board member and secretary of Scottsbluff, Nebraska’s Oregon Trail Community Foundation (community); president and board member of the Travis and Kathy Hiner Foundation (college foundation); board member and finance chairman for Regional West Health Services in Scottsbluff (hospital); and board member of the Nebraska Diplomats. Other hospital board involvements are Regional West Health Services; Regional West Properties; Regional Care, Inc., and The Village at Regional West since 1985.
Ann K. Burkholder

Ann Burkholder has been a resident of the State of Nebraska for over 55 years. She has been a director and vice president of Kosman, Inc., the family investment corporation since 1996, as well as Island Dehy and Andaco, Inc. Burkholder is a member of the Cozad Board of Education; P.E.O.; Cozad Area Arts Council; and St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. Her education consists of a B.S. David Burkholder as been a resident of the State of Nebraska for over 55 years. He is the owner of several ag related companies in Cozad, NE.: Nebraska Farm Products (alfalfa and farm products); Will Feed (cattle feedlot); and Andaco (farmland). He has been a director of KN Energy from 1986 to the present, and a director from 1981 to 1996 for Cozad State Bank, and since then has been a director and vice president of the Kosman Banking Family since March of 1996. He is currently a member of the Dawson County Cattlemen, the Elks Club, Hastings College Board of Trustees, Nebraska Cattlemen, and the American Alfalfa Processors Association. Burkholder received a B.A. Degree from Grinnel College in Iowa, and an MBA from Stanford University Business School.
J. Carr Trumbull

Carr Trumbull has been a resident of the Scottsbluff-Gering communities for over 65 years. He received a B.S. Degree in Law from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE; Denver University Building Industry School; U.S. Navy Naval Justice School; Anti-Submarine Warfare School; Air Controller School; Navigator, OOD-LTJG. His memberships include: Scottsbluff-Gering Rotary Club, B.P.O.E. He has been president, director and chairman of the board of Carr-Trumbull Lumber (Do-It-Center); president and director of United Manufacturing Company (Multi-purpose company/contracting); president of Leisure Living Ltd. Partnership (development/construction of adult duplex town houses); and manager of family farming operations. From 1991 Trumbull has served as a director of the Kosman Banking Family, to include FirsTier Bank, N.A. Scottsbluff and Platte Valley Financial Service Companies, Inc., Platte Valley Bank-Scottsbluff, NE, which has included loan review, management and financial review. Other involvements: from 1981 to present he serves as director for Regional West Health Services (holding corporation), while serving on various committees. From 1986 to the present he serves as Director and Vice President for Midwest Lumbermen’s Inter-Insurance Exchange (Lincoln, NE), which oversees property insurance for Nebraska Lumber Dealers. Don Overman has been a resident of the Scottsbluff-Gering communities for over 35 years. He is a graduate of Kansas State Teachers College and received a B.S. Degree for Commerce and Business Administration from Pittsburg State University. Overman is currently a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters; Million Dollar Round Table; Nebraska Diplomats; Kiwanis; B.PO.E. (Elks); Riverside Zoological Society; Panhandle Association of Life Underwriters; Scottsbluff-Gering United Chamber of Commerce; National Committee of Cities and States for Airline Service (Washington, D.C.); and the Scotts Bluff Airport Authority. He has been the managing general agent for Lincoln-Overman and Associates (life and health insurance sales) since 1970. Overman was the assistant store manager of 4 stores, and store manager for 6 stores for F.W. Woolworth Co. from 1943—’67, which included Kansas, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and Nebraska. He was vice mayor of the City of Scottsbluff from 1969 to 1974, and mayor from 1974—‘94. Overman has been a director with the Kosman Banking Family since 1992, which has included FirsTier Bank, N.A. G. Lee Glenn

Lee Glenn is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President at Kelley Bean Co., a Corporation in Scottsbluff, NE, as well as a Trustee for their ESOP. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1972 with a degree in accounting. Glenn brings with him many years of involvement locally and internationally in ag bean promotions, growth and sales. John Massey
